Environmental Health and Safety Officer
(STT/STX)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Environmental Health & Safety Officer will be
responsible for reviewing all protocols and
policies for all Environment, Health & Safety
programs and m maintain the Company’s health
and safety training programs to ensure training
complies with current local, federal, and when
necessary international regulations.
· Establish best practices and cultivate a Safety
Culture where Innovative Telephone personnel
recognize, report and take appropriate actions
for violations of company EHS guidelines and
work practices and implement policies,
procedures and programs for compliance
· Manage Spill Plan Program, Coordinate
Investigation for Accident and Incidents Program
· Coordinate environmental permitting processes
and activities; enforce actions, notices of
violation, informal settlement agreements, and
administrative orders and permit agreements
with local, state and federal governmental
environmental agencies
· Evaluate consultants, trainers, etc and advise
senior management on compliance statuses,
costs and technical improvements needed to
achieve compliance
· Coordinate activities of Safety Committees;
develop into support mechanism for EHS
policies. Ensure committee and management
goals coincide
· Coordinate facility environmental & safety
inspections (internal and external, scheduled,/
unscheduled)
· Monitor local and federal laws and regulations
and making appropriate policy and procedural
changes to meet compliance dates
· Coordinate facility inspections (internal and
external, scheduled/unscheduled)
· Provide compliance support and direction
· Provide assistance with dealings with EPA,
DPNR, OSHA, FCC, VIDOSH, USDOT, VIFS,
VEDEP, VIDEH, and any other agencies, local &
federal on EHS issues
· Maintain positive working relationships with all
regulatory agencies
· Serve as Hurricane Preparedness Coordinator
for Innovative
· Oversee disposal of all hazardous wastes
· Perform other duties as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· BA/BS or AD in degree in Safety Engineering,
Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Sciences, or
related field
· 2-3 years of related experience and/or training;
or equivalent combination of education and
experience
· Knowledge of the Telecommunications Industry
(i.e., department operations/ functions)
· Knowledge or training in occupational health,
safety, and environmental compliance with
applicable local, federal, and stage regulations
and standards
· Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands-
on health, safety, and environmental training
· Demonstrated knowledge of the standards,
concepts, procedures, and practices within
health, safety, and environmental fields Strong
PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint,
Excel)
· Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with
employees and outside agencies, excellent oral
and written skills
· High integrity and ability to work without direct
supervision
· Ability to conduct trainings
· Ability to manage multiple tasks
· Ability to lead and direct teams and/or
committees
